Other Critical Terms and Conditions for Rent
1) Guarantor (Surety): Usually, you are require to provide a Japanese
Guarantor who has stable career and income.
Please understand that providing a Guarantor
is requested not only to Foreigners but also
Japanese.
2) Contract period: Contract period is generally 2 years. It
is renewable. Upon renewal, you are required
to pay a renewal fee equivalent to 1 month
rent. Even during the period, you can cancel
the agreement by 1 - 2 months advance notice.
3) Restoration upon move-out: Every lease contract has an article regarding
your obligation of restoring the leased property
to its original condition upon termination
of the contract. This article is connected
to the refundable deposit.
